The Right Operating System for Your Tablet

A lot of people—especially if they are just having the idea of buying tablet PCs—tend to buy a tablet without really having a review on the tablet. They just buy it most of the time because of aesthetics and because the salesperson is just outright a great speaker. But trust me with this one: more often than not, these people are just “sugar-coating.” They tend to tell you everything good about the tablet, and they zip their mouth about the tablet’s drawback. Would it hurt if you would review the specs of a tablet so you could enjoy all its features? Certainly not! I bet it would hurt only if you are not satisfied with your tablet, and you have spent a real pretty penny down there.
Some people might even think of buying extra tablet accessories—thinking that these would maximize their tablets potential. But, here’s the thing: If you don’t know how to communicate well with your gizmo, you’ll end up being frustrated, to the point that you would demand to give your money back. If only you knew how to understand your tablet. Hmm, the only way to communicate with your tablet is to learn its language. In this gizmo, the language is their operating system. Do you know any of them? I’m sure you do. But, let’s take a rundown with each OS so you can justify your taste:

#1: Android

Who haven’t heard of this OS? Android is very popular not just on tablets but also on smartphones. It is designed by the search giant, Google. It is by far the closest competition to Apple iOS. The two main versions of Android were the older Gingerbread Android 2.3.x and the now outdated Android 3.x, which is also known as Honeycomb. The former was specifically designed for smartphones and can be deployed to older or cheaper tablet models, while the latter was specifically deployed to tablets, and it has numerous advantages, too. The latest version of Android is called Jelly Bean Android 4.1+, which is an evolution of the previous Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0. If you are keen enough to notice, every version of the platform is named from an alphabet order of sweets. This OS is highly flexible as you can install apps from third-party market places. What’s even greater about it is that you can tweak the entire interface. Of course, since Google made it, Google services are at the heart of Android, which is indeed highly polished. The only downside here is that it doesn’t have consistency with its design, making it harder to learn the interface.

#2: Apple iOS

The iOS for iDevices sure is real slick! Who wouldn’t know Apple iOS? They were the first one who made the wave of touchscreens. Thus, when it comes to touch interface, it is very responsive. If Android managed to tweak and tweak its interface, Apple maintained its design so it would be easy for users to learn.  What’s unlikely with this OS is that you are stuck with iTunes store and nothing else. Hardware for Apple is also limited as well that comes with a real pretty penny.

#3: BlackBerry Tablet OS

This OS, as evident with its name, is developed for its Playbook tablet only. It enables you to do multi-tasking with tablet as it allows you to run multiple apps at once and browse the web with nearly all the features you’d expect. If you’re a sucker for BBs, then you’d definitely love this OS. But, now that BlackBerry 10 has been released, things would definitely turn around any minute now, as it is said that this current tablet is a dying platform.

#4: Windows

First known on PCs, now it’s on smartphones and tablets! Windows 8 is now popping fresh as it has been a dedicated tablet OS. Windows had it all revamped as they cannot use their previous versions to touch interface. With its newly revamped OS, it is said that there’s a lot of hype behind it. And this could be a real interesting one. But do bear in mind as well that it’s going to take time for users to learn its interface.

So before pumping your tablet with energy through your USB chargers, make sure that you know your tablet inside-out. In this way, you’ll know how to communicate with your tablet.

Women’s Unlikely Unhealthy Habits

Unarguably, women are more health conscious than men. They are the ones who are more religious in sticking to diet plans, staying in shape, and buying items that make them look and feel good. Due to their discipline and willpower, they easily see plans through. However, unconsciously, women have habits that are counterproductive to what they intend to achieve. Without further ado, take heed of the habits women do that negatively affect their health.

1.       Wearing high heels. Nowadays, footwear grew higher and higher, and women are up for the challenge to wear those uncomfortable high heels just to look absolutely gorgeous and stunning. However, opting to wear those high heels on a daily basis can incur serious effects on their health, such as affecting posture, putting pressure on joints, arthritis, back pain, and tendon injuries. It is advisable to limit heels to 1.5 inches and wear insoles to reduce the pressure on prominences and joints.
2.       Carrying a heavy handbag. There are just so many things to carry with you, but the question is, “Are they all necessary?” Instead of carrying a full-size handbag full of tablet accessories, make-up kits, various toiletries, and unnecessary clutter, just bring a smaller bag containing only essential items. Studies show that consistently putting weight on your shoulders has long-term effects on your health that may cause back problems, poor posture, and spinal curvatures.
3.       Sleeping with makeup. Some women are just a sucker for make-ups, and there can be times when they go to bed without removing what they applied on their faces whether heavy or not. The chemicals that you apply on your face come along with dirt and oil that can clog your pores, which may cause blemishes.
4.       Wearing a wrong bra size. Studies show that more than 70% of women wear an incorrect bra size. An ill-fitted bra may cause a range of health problems like neck, back, and breast pain. Additionally, it can also result to breathing difficulties, poor posture, skin irritation, poor circulation, and even irritable bowel syndrome.
5.       Not having enough sleep. Having less than the recommended 8-hour sleep daily, not only makes people look older than they really are, it also is associated to increasing number of accidents, increased calorie intake, and increased risk of heart diseases. Like how a USB charger replenishes your gadgets’ battery life, get yourself adequate sleep to recharge your energy and promote your health.
6.       Emotional binging. Research suggests that women are more likely to indulge with their cravings whenever they’re sad. Though generally, women are more disciplined in following diet plans, depression can get the best of them. Instead, why don’t you just distract yourself from your cravings by boosting the production of happy hormones by working out?
7.       Putting their sake last. Women are without a doubt more caring than men, which is why they tend to put themselves last. They find it just alright to compromise themselves just to attend to the needs of other people that unknowingly put them at risk to a number of health issues. To avoid any health concerns brought about by self-sacrifice, learn to say no to unessential requests. It’s not bad to care so much for others; it’s just that you shouldn’t forget to care for yourself as well.

Even the things you do that seem harmless actually do you no good. Your bad habits just defeat the purpose of acquiring a healthy well-being. Make it a habit to prevent the things above one way or another to be healthy.

Time is Almost Up!

Every moment in this lifetime is borrowed. It can be taken away from you in a year, a month, or even an instant. No one can tell when their time has reached its ending; heck, it can easily be seized from you with your bucket list left unfinished. What to do then? Your bucket list can’t be that easy so going over each number would be a waste of time (if it is quite important that you get it all together as soon as possible), then maybe you should have a change of habit and start being spontaneous.
Old habits are hard to break and so that’s what we are going to do now. Breaking some of them can be the starting point for spontaneity. After you accomplished this, you are already a step ahead which is why you might as well do more of this.
1.       Dress up in clothes you rather not wear on an ordinary day.
Oh the horror! Your usual shirt and jeans won’t do anymore. Now you have to dress up! Erm, this might require you spending a little money for CLOTHES not tablet accessories for your precious gadget. It can wait. Right now, we’re after a better you and absolutely no one and nothing else.
If you are the ballerina type, time to get in the fitting room and try on something new. Transform into a rocker with baggy clothes and spike-filled bracelets with the darkest makeup anyone has ever put on his face. If say you are the nerdy little guy in school, you most definitely want to change that! Tuck out your shirt and loosen up on the hair gel. With a little tweak, you will be the boy-next-door you never thought you could become.
2.       Eat differently.
Everybody knows junk means bad right? Oh wait, I meant TOO MUCH junk is bad. A LITTLE of it ain’t so bad. Health addicts, loosen up a bit, will you? A little meat on the side is as necessary as any other vegetable you’ve been munching all these years. It is all the same with you carnivorous people. Exercise will be a lot easier if you include some fruits and veggies in.
3.       Get a haircut.
I guess this bit will only work with people that have hair to cut. Then again, you can grow back that hair you decided to lose the previous year. You can have your pet best friend help you to the hairdresser. A good haircut can not only clean you nicely but also have the ladies swarming their eyes all over you. As for women, a fine hairdo can brush off some years off of you as you go ahead and sweep the crowd with that gorgeous hair. The hair is every person’s greatest asset.

4.       Ask that person you’ve admired for so long on a date.

Challenge accepted! Get this done or end your life for good. Okay maybe that was too much of me to say. Hey, why again are we going through this list in the first place anyway? Well? Spontaneity! What’s more spontaneous than to ask that one important person on a date? It doesn’t have to be a huge one. A coffee will do or invite him to accompany you to the store where she bought that leather case you also wanted.

Start small then go big! Don’t hesitate or even think of hesitating just because you are a woman. Romance has turned a new leaf this century. It doesn’t matter if it is the guy or the girl who initiates when all that matters is what comes next.

It is such a weighty task to turn your lifestyle a complete 180-degree. It’s like your shedding off a part of who you are and replacing it with something else. Then again, the changes you are about to go through can be the best thing that’s ever happened to you.
