Unarguably, women are more health conscious than men. They are the ones
who are more religious in sticking to diet plans, staying in shape, and buying
items that make them look and feel good. Due to their discipline and willpower,
they easily see plans through. However, unconsciously, women have habits that
are counterproductive to what they intend to achieve. Without further ado, take
heed of the habits women do that negatively affect their health.
1.
Wearing high heels. Nowadays, footwear grew
higher and higher, and women are up for the challenge to wear those
uncomfortable high heels just to look absolutely gorgeous and stunning.
However, opting to wear those high heels on a daily basis can incur serious
effects on their health, such as affecting posture, putting pressure on joints,
arthritis, back pain, and tendon injuries. It is advisable to limit heels to
1.5 inches and wear insoles to reduce the pressure on prominences and joints.
2.
Carrying a heavy handbag. There are just so many
things to carry with you, but the question is, “Are they all necessary?”
Instead of carrying a full-size handbag full of tablet accessories, make-up kits, various toiletries, and
unnecessary clutter, just bring a smaller bag containing only essential items.
Studies show that consistently putting weight on your shoulders has long-term
effects on your health that may cause back problems, poor posture, and spinal
curvatures.
3.
Sleeping with makeup. Some women are just a
sucker for make-ups, and there can be times when they go to bed without
removing what they applied on their faces whether heavy or not. The chemicals
that you apply on your face come along with dirt and oil that can clog your
pores, which may cause blemishes.
4.
Wearing a wrong bra size. Studies show that more
than 70% of women wear an incorrect bra size. An ill-fitted bra may cause a
range of health problems like neck, back, and breast pain. Additionally, it can
also result to breathing difficulties, poor posture, skin irritation, poor
circulation, and even irritable bowel syndrome.
5.
Not having enough sleep. Having less than the
recommended 8-hour sleep daily, not only makes people look older than they
really are, it also is associated to increasing number of accidents, increased
calorie intake, and increased risk of heart diseases. Like how a USB charger replenishes your gadgets’
battery life, get yourself adequate sleep to recharge your energy and promote
your health.
6.
Emotional binging. Research suggests that women
are more likely to indulge with their cravings whenever they’re sad. Though
generally, women are more disciplined in following diet plans, depression can
get the best of them. Instead, why don’t you just distract yourself from your cravings
by boosting the production of happy hormones by working out?
7.
Putting their sake last. Women are without a
doubt more caring than men, which is why they tend to put themselves last. They
find it just alright to compromise themselves just to attend to the needs of
other people that unknowingly put them at risk to a number of health issues. To
avoid any health concerns brought about by self-sacrifice, learn to say no to
unessential requests. It’s not bad to care so much for others; it’s just that
you shouldn’t forget to care for yourself as well.
Even the things you do that seem harmless actually do you no good. Your
bad habits just defeat the purpose of acquiring a healthy well-being. Make it a
habit to prevent the things above one way or another to be healthy.
