Use Your Charger Wisely

When we bought our hard-earned, nifty smartphone, it comes in a box that includes earphones, the phone itself, manual, and the charger. We overuse the phone and earphones, and we hardly read the manual. We only know chargers if our phone’s battery ran out of juice. But what we often overlook at times are things that really deserve attention. These accessories need more attention than you think even from all-posh phones to cheap mobile phones. Let the focus be on chargers.

Chargers, which are notoriously diverse, are not really chargers as what we ought to think of them. They are only power adapters that give a power source for the charging circuitry. It can either be a cell phone charger, battery charger for vehicles, stationary battery plants, and *insert all man-made chargers here*. We all need them to sustain the functionality of our gadgets. So if you want your phone to be recharged again, better take care of your portable chargers. Here are some quick guides on taking care of your mobile phone chargers:

#1: Don’t use your charger in tight places. This applies more to tropical countries. If you neglect this, overheating may arise which can lead to malfunction of charger, or worse, fire.

#2: Plug the charger on its appropriate voltage. Some chargers need their voltage regulated right, or else, you can bid goodbye to your device. Although chargers nowadays are already flexible when it comes to voltage, just be mindful of some that sticks to their own voltage rate. Check your manual to be guided. Make use of it.

#3: Unplug charger if not in use. Like every other resource, you’ve got to learn how to use it; you’ve got to learn how to save it. But, go easy on unplugging it, for it may damage the charger. Unplug it like how you have plugged it—don’t just pull its cord.

#4: Keep it in a dry place. All the electrically driven devices need to be kept in a dry place, and same is true with your charger. Make sure your hands are dry when you are going to plug your charger to the circuit. And one more thing, remove any possible conductive materials that could trigger short circuit. It’s better to prevent accidents than be electrocuted! Yikes!

#5: Clean it with care. Once in a while, we have to clean or devices to prolong their good functionality. But, when we’re talking about gadgets, liquid solutions would never be an option. You just have to wipe it with a soft, clean, and dry cloth to wipe away all kinds of debris or dust. Don’t even think about using damp cloths! Just keep the cleaning cloth dry, and it will do what it has to do.

It’s best to take care of your chargers so you wouldn’t be obliged to buy a new one which may cost a lot. Don’t even think of settling with replica ones, or you’ll be damaging your phone extensively in no time. If it malfunctioned, don’t attempt to repair it. Go to the nearest authorized repair depot so they could resolve the issue.

Dress Up!

You woke up one morning and checked the time from your smartphone, finding yourself late for an appointment. You swiftly got out of bed, ate a little or sometimes not at all, and took a bath like you are being chased. The moment you went off the bathroom, it’s time for you to dress up—only to realize that you are indecisive on what attire you are going to wear. Clock’s ticking fast signifying you have no time to lose so you grabbed clothes absent-mindedly for you’re in real haste. You have put them on and went off thinking you are geared enough just to stumble on how inappropriate your attire is. There are two choices, though: 1. Go home again and find a dress appropriate to the occasion, or 2.Endure the lofty glances from people and keep wishing for the event to be over.

It wouldn’t have happened if you have been keen with your choice of clothes, or we can also blame the clock for not waking you up. But the thing is, it all boils down to making a choice. As they say, life itself is a choice. And yet again, it’s better to choose clothes than can be flexible in a sense that it can be worn casually or with special occasions. Here are some tips on how to choose good clothes:

1.       Good fitting sets good clothing. What’s trending is not always hot for everybody. It blends with the right fit of the body. Wearing clothes that are too tight or too short will never make you look and feel good especially if you don’t have a slim figure. Long necks can be shortened by high collars and also short necklace. If you have short legs, don’t wear shoes with straps for it will shorten it more. Wear a scarf or belt that hangs down toward the legs to create an illusion that it appears longer. Wear larger print for the areas in which you want to be emphasized and smaller print for otherwise.

2.       Choose colors that match your tone. Everyone has an underlying skin tone that can be determined by either pinching your earlobes, the back of your hand or the tip of your fingers. If the color you see after a few seconds shows blue, pink, red-violet or rosy tones, you’ll look greater in cool colors. While peach, golden, bright warm red or coral tones suggests warm colors complements your tone.

3.       Match with the right accessories. With right accessories, you will appear fancied-up as long as it’s in tune with what you’re wearing. It can tell so much about you for it reflects your personality. Let’s take bags for example. You cannot just use any kind of bags. Day Brown bags can be worn with all colors except black. While Day Black bags match best with black, white, grey or taupe. Evening bags best fits with jewelries gold or silver. If you have time to get accessories for mobile phones, all the more you have to be vigilant with your accessories. Dress up your mobile as you dress yourself, or better yet, jibe your phone with your clothing. It adds up the funkiness and instills vigor as you focus with the details on your apparel.

So when oversleeping impends, (God forbid) you can now be more confident with your outfit because you are well geared up with these tips in choosing fine clothes. Dressing-up is like looking for a best cell phone case for your device. It may take a while streaming over catalogs, online shops, or  on fleeting visits to malls, but it’ll be worth it once you have known the means of dressing up.

DIY: Setting up Home Wireless Lan in 4 steps.

Indeed, “The strongest connections are at home,” if I may quote one of the internet service providers. So might as well get your smartphones, laptops, and other devices stay connected to share internet access, files, printers, game consoles, and among all the computers in your home. First off, you will need to have three things to set-up your wireless network:

1.       Operating System supporting Wireless Networking

Windows 7 platform already supports wireless networking.  But in the case of platforms like Windows Vista, users are recommended to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 before setting up the Wireless Lan. Same is true with Windows XP which recommends Windows XP Service Pack 3 to make the wireless network possible. But in order to check whether you’re still in need of installing the service pack, you may use Windows Update. Here are the steps:
Click: Start > All Programs > Windows Update > Check for updates.

2.       Broad Band Internet Connection (DSL or Cable)

Of course, if you don’t have high-speed Internet connection provided by an ISP, how could you have an internet connection? There are two common broadband technologies which are Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and cable technology, requiring a DSL modem or a cable modem.

3.       A wireless router, a DSL modem, or a cable modem with built-in wireless networking support

Router is responsible for the conversion of signals coming across the internet into a wireless broadcast but now, newer DSL and cable modems do have integrated wireless network capability, too, known as modem routers. In that case, it is needless to purchase a separate wireless router.
Have these three important things and you are now ready to follow these five simple steps to set up your own wireless network:

1.       Internet Connected

Make sure that you are connected to the internet and your DSL or cable modem is working for you to conduct your wireless network.

2.       Connect your wireless router

For you to connect wireless router, you must first unplug your cable modem or DSL modem to  turn it off. Then, connect your wireless router to your modem as the latter stays connected to the internet. After connecting all the components, your computer will wirelessly connect to your router. Then the router will send communications through your modem to the Internet.

3.       Configure your wireless router

Connect our computer to one of the open network ports on your wireless router using the network cable that came with your wireless router. Open Internet Explorer and type in the URL address to configure your router and do this only on the computer that is intended for the set up of your wireless network. The computer automatically links you to the router’s configuration page. Now you might be prompted for a password and the address and password you use varies depending on the type of router so it’s important for you to refer to the instructions included with your router or you can also see the instructions on the manufacturer’s website. The browser shows you the configuration page, along with the modem IP address and other information but you need to configure three things:

·         Wireless network name, or the SSID. SSID should be modified for you to be able to identify your network. And it can also help in keep your wireless network secure by preventing it from overlapping with other wireless networks that might be using default SSID.
·         Wireless network protection: Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA or WPA2). Protect your Wi-Fi by setting up network security key as it turns on encryption. This prevents people to connect to your network and prevents attempts as well to access your network and files without your permission as all information sent across your network is encrypted.
·         Administrative password. This password controls your wireless network just like any other password. If possible, it should have special keys or just any word that can’t be found in the dictionary. Also, be sure to save a hard copy and a digital copy of this password if for instance you have to change your router’s settings. Click Save Settings, Apply, or OK and you’re all set with the settings.

4.       Connect your computers, printers, and other devices to the wireless network.

You can now connect your latest gadgets as long as they have a network adapter or a built-in wireless capability.

So stay tuned in and connected; make yourself feel at home with your homely set-up Wi-Fi.

Who wants to get inked?

You have been salivating on your dear friend’s tattoo for a long time now. You personally think that your friend’s tats are super hot. You have imagined yourself over and over again about getting one for your own. But in one way or another, something hinders you from getting it. You still have this uncertainty over deciding since you are well aware that a tattoo is not just like a new haircut or new shoes. A tattoo is here to stay, for the rest of your life, and there is no turning back.

So before you take that one of the most important decisions of your life, I hope that what I’m going to tell you will help whether you will push through getting inked, or let the fantasy go.

1.       It will definitely hurt
If you are not aware yet, the process of applying tattoo is by repeatedly puncturing your skin with a needle to let the ink be absorbed in the punctured areas. If being pricked by a needle once made you scream or cry, imagine that being done a hundred times. Torture eh? But as they always say, “no pain, no gain,” so if you really want that tattoo so bad, I say that you should be ready for the pain that will come. No distractions will soothe you; even plugging in your mobile earphones, or playing games with your latest gadgets will prove to be futile.

2.       Consider your reasons
You have to go back and ask yourself again why you want to get a tattoo. If you end up with reasons like, “because all my friends have theirs” or “my boyfriend wants me to get one,” then I will be the one to tell you that you should not get it after all. Deciding to get inked should be a personal decision; you should be 100% involved because this could change your life. It will be forever imprinted on your skin; thus, you should be certain and absolute.

3.       Consider the future
Since your tattoo will definitely stay, you have to get a glimpse of the future and think about how it could affect yourself and your life. If tattoos on the tongue and gums are now hot in the social trend, that doesn’t mean that they will still be in for the next ten years. A tattoo is not like your rotating case stand that you could easily change when you don’t want it anymore. So I say that you should choose a safer route around it by being more neutral with your decision when it comes in the design and the location of your tattoo.

In the event that you already had your dream tattoo, now you can flaunt it. Wear it loud and proud and be pleased of the decision that you recently made for yourself.
